MHA Clubhouse

The MHA Clubhouse is located at 10060 Skyline Boulevard, high in the Oakland hills. This historic building houses meeting rooms as well as a kitchen and restrooms. Free off-street parking is available to clubhouse visitors.

Sequoia Arena

Just across the street from the MHA clubhouse, nestled in beautiful Joaquin Miller Park, is Sequoia Arena, the perfect choice for equestrian events of all kinds. This tranquil arena is surrounded by pine and redwood trees, lush greenery, and miles of beautiful riding trails.

In September 2019, the city of Oakland Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board voted unanimously to designate the MHA Clubhouse and Sequoia Horse Arena official “Heritage Properties,” recognizing the role of the MHA in preserving equestrian history. This complex in Joaquin Miller Park is now listed on the local register of historic places.

Please Help!

The Metropolitan Horsemen's Association leases Sequoia Arena from the City of Oakland, and we maintain it at our own expense. Your donations help us with routine maintenance as well as major projects, such as the 2011 fence renovation, the 2013 reconstruction of the announcer's booth, and repairs to the judge's booth in 2019 due to vandalism. Additionally, we are currently researching cost options and developing a fundraising campaign in earnest for new arena sand. Your donations are instrumental in realizing this effort.

The Arena is in need of some much-needed repairs, to continue serving the next generation of equestrians for years to come. Please donate to the Arena Fund! To contribute to the Arena Fund via PayPal, go to paypal.me/MHAOakland
